About Prompter
You write the same instructions to your agents over and over: the review checklist, the house style, “run the tests before you commit.” Prompter turns each one into a short shortcut. Type ;review in any app and the full prompt appears the moment you finish typing. No space or Return needed.
Snippets can press keys too, so a prompt can end with Return and send itself. If you dictate to the Claude app instead, Prompter can turn down your music and videos, then fade them back up when you stop. It’s a small native Mac app that lives in your menu bar, and your snippets never leave your Mac.
Features
- Type a shortcut, get the prompt
- Shortcuts expand in any app the moment you type them: Claude, Cursor, your terminal, your browser.
- Key presses in snippets
- Add Return, Shift-Return, Tab, or any key combination, so a prompt can send itself.
- Rich text and lists
- Bold, italics, links, and bulleted or numbered lists, pasted as real formatting.
- Automatic volume control
- Turn it on, and other audio goes quiet while you dictate to the Claude app, then fades back up when you stop. Works with audio interfaces that have no software volume control.
- Lives in the menu bar
- Built in Swift for macOS. It opens a window only when you want one.
- Stays on your Mac
- No accounts. Snippets are stored on your Mac, with daily backups.
